Gmail on your mobile is getting much brighter. Google is rolling out a new interface overhaul for Gmail on mobile devices on Android and iOS. Material Design language is getting updated for various web apps. Last year Gmail on the web received a substantial overhaul that included a new look and a bunch of new features, while in the subsequent months Google debuted updated Material Design guidelines.
Google refers to this as Material Theming, and it’s something the company is applying across its own myriad applications. The update (v9.1.13.231319729) was released yesterday, so you should probably get in a couple of days as the roll-out usually takes time to reach all regions.
